His father was a Baptist minister who inspired him to pursue a career that motivated him. As a respected lawyer, Mr. Cole holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Loyola Law School, where he graduated cum laude. While studying law, he was able to represent his school in state and national moot court competitions. He also received an honorary Bachelor of Arts in political science from California State University, Long Beach. He has held the title of partner with Madden, Jones, Cole & Johnson for 38 years. Throughout his career, Mr. Cole has established a prolific body of work as a quality lawyer who is able to build good relationships with his clients as well as opposing counsel.
With a commitment to excellence, intelligence, diligence, and most importantly, integrity, Mr. Cole has always had the ability to determine the most important aspects of a case during his work as a trial lawyer. As a testament to his professional skills, he has been complimented by several judges over the years and by others for his writing skills. In addition, he has been listed as a Super Lawyer in Los Angeles Magazine multiple times and is AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Civically, Mr. Cole has served as captain of Long Beach Crew, on the board of governors of the Long Beach Bar Association, and as president of the Joseph A. Ball, Clarence S. Hunt, Vern Schooley Inn of Court. He has also volunteered his time locally as a youth coach for 33 soccer, basketball, baseball, and football teams.
As a seasoned professional, Mr. Cole has been able to gain the respect of his peers and clients by treating others the way in which he would like to be treated. Integrity is an important aspect of Mr. Cole’s personal and professional reputation. He learned from a young age to behave with integrity and continues to pass this valuable lesson on to his children and to his colleagues.
